The Guides

What do Guides do?

Guides follow a four-year Journey Programme designed to develop their independence, self-confidence, and teamwork and leadership skills. This is done through meeting activities, outdoor camping, indoor weekends, outdoor activities and international travel.

There are heaps of opportunities to earn badges for your favourite pastime and activities range from camping and adventure sports to sleep overs and pyjama hikes.

There is a huge international dimension to being a Guide, and girls have many opportunities to go on trips abroad to various camps and events. They also have the opportunity to participate in home hospitality in foreign countries where they can really get to know the culture and way of life in that country. Many foreign groups visit us here in Ireland as well.

The Guiding programme gives the Guides an all-round education and development.

Resources For Parents

Here you will find a number of helpful documents and other resources for parents.

With guiding, your daughter will laugh, learn and have adventures – all at an affordable cost. Our fantastic volunteers will be there to support her right from the start.

Guiding provides opportunities for girls to make new friends, have fun and grow in confidence. Our activities are designed for all girls, so there’s a place for your daughter whatever her tastes or needs.
