Ladybirds is a three-year programme designed to be progressive. Ladybirds are superheroes, gaining powers as they collect their Discover, Grow and Fly Journey badges which are used to develop their rainbow-coloured superhero capes. Games, activities and badges aim to develop positive self-image, introduce Guiding values, and teach girls how to play and work well with others. 

They complete badges such as Cultural Awareness, Cyber Security, Environmental Awareness, Robotics, STEM and Healthy Mind. Through a variety of activities, Ladybirds will learn a range of life skills and further their understanding of the world around them.

How do they do it?

When a girl joins Ladybirds she starts attending a weekly meeting, usually during school terms and are usually 1 hour long.
Ladybirds are explorers, collecting experiences and treasures as they complete their Journey badges – Discover, Grow, Fly.

At meetings girls learn all about Ladybirds including the Song, Story, Promise, Ladybird's Law and Motto. A Ladybird then starts her journey by preparing to make her Ladybird Promise. She begins to wear her uniform. Once she has completed all the challenges in the “becoming a Ladybird” journey badge, and has attended minimum 8 meetings, then she is enrolled as a Ladybird and will receive her first badge – her Promise Pin.

2. Use our "Parent Enquiry Form” to send a request to the National Office
3. The request will be sent to the relevant Regional Development Officer
4. The leader will contact you as you stated in your preference on the form
5. Have a chat with your Leader
6. Bring your daughter to her first Ladybird meeting and let her journey commence!
